Company Vision

Fidelia was founded to address the problem of deploying multiple network and server management products in a large IT network, and trying to correlate the data with the impact on business services.

Fidelia's founders came from Verio (acquired by NTT in 2000 for $6B). Building on their years of experience dealing with large networks and multiple NMS products, they architected NetVigil- a commercial software application that could scale to very large deployments and give users a way to see the relevance of their IT infrastructure on the delivery of service.

NetVigil began customer shipments in early 2002. It is a powerful yet affordable tool that is easy to deploy and use, and immediately begins returning value to IT managers. NetVigil's fundamental differentiator is being able to help IT managers relate IT infrastructure problems to the impact on their overall business.

Technology Breakthroughs

This differentiator is the result of the following breakthroughs in technology:

• “Business container” technology - Business containers are user-defined views that enable IT managers to view the real-time performance of their business services – and then click through to resolve problems in the underlying IT elements.
• Federated Departmental model - multiple departments in an enterprise can create isolated "virtual NMSs" using NetVigil and maintain their ownership. By using a consolidated platform for all elements in the IT infrastructure – including business applications and servers – NetVigil is able to provide a unique holistic view of the overall business.
• Integrated fault & performance – NetVigil is the 1st IT management solution provider to use the same data stores for fault and performance data. This provides a distinct advantage for rapidly analyzing the cause of IT infrastructure problems.

NetVigil helps IT managers augment the dynamic growth of their infrastructures by simplifying their IT management and adding value to the overall business.

Fidelia's vision for NetVigil is to continue to help our customers make better business decisions by providing more and more IT information relevant to operating their day-to-day businesses.

Today NetVigil is already providing our customers with automatic discovery of business services and helping them cope with a lack of IT business management and business process management standards. We are continuing to evolve NetVigil's business service management capabilities by constantly expanding our library of rules, automations and processes.

Capabilities inherent to NetVigil – particularly integrated fault and performance, trending analysis, plus the ability to monitor networks, applications and systems/servers – furthers our ability to realize our vision of true overall business management. We believe these qualities position Fidelia as a leader among IT management software providers and enable us to evolve NetVigil in a direction that will include:

1. Support for business process management functionality and
2. Support for infrastructure-centric autonomic computing functions.

Over time, this will be accomplished by:
