Spirit Airlines, which is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is the largest privately-held airline in the US. Auto Trader UK, owned by Trader Media Ltd., is Great Britain's most popular motoring website and has sister sites in Italy, Holland and Ireland. Fidelia NetVigil will provide real-time fault monitoring and performance management for the companies IT and web infrastructures. Both companies are running Linux versions of the NetVigil product. Spirit Airlines chose Fidelia over other network management products primarily because of NetVigil's ability to integrate fault and performance management capabilities across applications, servers and the network. Spirit books more than 3,000 flight segments a day through our online booking and flight status system, so the network has to work efficiently. Having a single product that monitors both WAN and server performance makes the job of keeping the network running a lot easier. Being able to view service status and generate reports through an easy-to-use browser interface is a very attractive feature of NetVigil, said Dan Piec, Spirit Airlines director of MIS operations. For companies like Spirit Airlines and Auto Trader UK, whose success can be significantly impacted by IT infrastructure problems or network slowdowns, being able to isolate and solve problems quickly and efficiently is critical to providing the immediate service that online customers demand. Being able to proactively analyze and manage network performance to prevent problems from occurring is a feature Fidelia NetVigil brings to these customers. "We needed a continuous and robust monitoring solution for our business critical website which is constantly growing and changing to meet the needs of our business. The Auto Trader website isour key interface to the outside world. NetVigil delivers a constant watch on an end-to-end basis of our entire website, including of our critical support applications," said Clem Kumah, network manager, Auto Trader (Trader Media Ltd). Launched in June of this year, Fidelia has expanded into a variety of vertical markets, adding institutional and commercial customers in the US and abroad. The company recently introduced a new version of NetVigil that runs on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP platforms, adding to the Linux and Solaris platforms it first introduced. Engineered from the ground up to provide a consolidated view of both sophisticated fault monitoring and real-time performance management, Fidelia NetVigil is the first product that gives network managers a single, easy-to-use tool to manage their entire IT infrastructure. In today's economy, having multiple products for fault and performance management is no longer a viable option. IT managers need the benefits that a unified fault and performance management tool, like NetVigil, can deliver. Not only does it offer real-time discovery of network problems, but it also provides fast ROI by identifying over-utilized as well as under-utilized IT resources within an enterprise, said Vikas Aggarwal, Fidelia's president and chief technology officer.
