Fidelia Releases Windows Version of Its NetVigil™ Real-time Performance Management and Monitoring Suite

Offers Same Flexibility and End-to-End Visibility of URL-based Transactions as Previous Linux / Solaris Version

Princeton, NJ, August 19, 2002 - Fidelia Inc. today introduced a new version of NetVigil that runs on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP platforms, extending the real-time capabilities of its performance management and monitoring suite to IT managers who prefer Windows platforms. Engineered from the ground up to provide a consolidated view of both sophisticated fault monitoring and real-time performance management, Fidelia NetVigil is the first product that gives network managers a single, easy-to-use tool to manage their entire IT infrastructure.

The new Windows 2000 and XP version of NetVigil retains all of the rich capabilities that are available for Solaris and Linux platforms. Through its ability to dynamically correlate networks, servers, and applications enterprise-wide, NetVigil enables the end-to-end tracking and proactive management of multiple-step, URL-based business transactions, no matter what platform they run on. Because the product works the same across different platforms, it can save time for companies, including those who want to transition network operations from one OS platform to another.

NetVigil's scalable, distributed database and processing architecture allows it to avoid the limitations of previous-generation products with centralized databases. Its distributed architecture, which features fully decentralized data collection, report processing, and archiving, bypasses the storage and traffic overhead problems inherent in products that employ a single, central database for all reporting and archiving functions.

The product's unique multi-level administration capability allows companies to delegate monitoring privileges and responsibilities to different groups, departments, or individuals - without losing insight into the global IT infrastructure. An attractive feature for both corporate enterprises and service providers, these "federated views" provide individuals and groups with their own fully-functional and secure "virtual network management systems" while, at the same time, offering an "executive" view of the entire system for senior IT management. The new version of NetVigil which supports Windows 2000 and Windows XP requires a standard 800MHz Pentium III-compatible processor, 512MB memory, and 10GB disk space. Pricing for the enterprise version, which scales to support tens of thousands of devices, starts at $55,000. Pricing for a full featured departmental version of NetVigil with all of the performance and fault management capabilities starts at $35,000. NetVigil is also available on Solaris and Linux platforms.
