Fidelia^® Ships NetVigil Version 3.5

Enhanced Business Container Intelligence Extends Fidelia's Technology Leadership in Business Service Monitoring Arena

Princeton, NJ – April 14, 2003 – Fidelia^® Technology, the leader in Instant Business Visibility™ software, today announced the first customer shipments of version 3.5 of its Fidelia NetVigil™ application. With the new release, Fidelia expands the intelligence and scope of its landmark business container software technology.

NetVigil is a breakthrough solution that provides integrated fault and performance monitoring of applications, networks, systems and user defined data sources. This versatile data gathering combination enables customers to rapidly create business containers - personalized views showing the real-time performance of business services derived from the performance of the underlying IT infrastructure. Key NetVigil v3.5 innovations include the ability to build containers within containers, and the flexibility to quickly drill down through the service hierarchy to view the real-time status of these "nested" containers.

A Low-Footprint Solution

Fidelia NetVigil experienced significant market traction in recent months because it is a lightweight solution in an industry migrating away from heavy infrastructures and complex monitoring solutions. Next-generation products with significantly lower total cost of ownership - such as the Linux operating system and blade servers - are driving the market toward monitoring solutions like NetVigil that can determine business impact and provide business service visibility in real-time.

Powerful Data Gathering Elements (DGEs), each with its own database, automatically discover problems and establish baselines and thresholds for monitored applications, networks, and systems. Business containers can be created on the fly and can represent a geographic location, a business unit, or a revenue-generating service. Containers can share elements with other containers.

NetVigil features an intuitive point-and-click, browser-based user interface that drills down to illustrate infrastructure fault and performance with red-amber-green traffic lights. In addition to allowing the creation of containers, NetVigil's capabilities include a sophisticated "delegated user authority," which lets IT managers distribute responsibilities for personal infrastructure slices to other users in the organization. Downloadable over the Web, NetVigil begins discovering the IT infrastructure immediately, returning its value quickly.

The NetVigil application is affordably priced for mid-tier enterprises, but scalable enough for Fortune 500 organizations. Licenses for NetVigil v3.5 start at $35,000, with an average price of approximately $80,000. To date, Fidelia has filed for four patents on the NetVigil intellectual property. NetVigil runs under Solaris, Linux and Windows.
