Agentless monitoring of Microsoft SQL Servers in NetVigil

Princeton, NJ - Nov 18, 2004 - Fidelia Technology, the leader in Instant Business Visibility software, announced support for monitoring Microsoft SQL Server databases. Customers get real time alerts and historical trend analysis for capacity planning, troubleshooting and load analysis of their SQL Server deployments.

NetVigil monitors SQL Server metrics such as the connected users, transaction rates, cache hit rations, lock wait times, deadlocks and database errors, all of which are important for any database manager to monitor the health of the database. The cross-platform approach allows monitoring both Windows and Unix networks from a single console. The web interface minimizes training needs, and the Fidelia Business Container technology allows determining the root cause of database slowdown by monitoring not only the databases, but also the underlying server and network IT infrastructure.

The NetVigil application is affordably priced for mid-tier enterprises, but scalable for Fortune 500 organizations. The Web based user interface, ease of use and very low total cost of ownership has enabled a number of enterprises to replace their aging IT management systems with the newer generation Fidelia product. Licenses for NetVigil v3.6 start at $40,000, with an average price of approximately $80,000 to $100,000. To date, Fidelia has filed for four patents on the NetVigil intellectual property. NetVigil runs under Solaris, Linux and Windows.
