Fidelia® a Finalist in CMP Media LLC’s Network Computing Magazine’s 10th Annual Well-Connected Awards

NetVigil 3.6™ Nominated in Network & Systems Management Performance Monitoring Solution Category

Princeton, NJ – April 13, 2004– Fidelia® Technology announced today that a version of its Instant Business Visibility™ software has been nominated as a finalist in CMP Media LLC’s Network Computing Magazine’s Tenth Annual Well-Connected Awards. Fidelia NetVigil 3.6 was selected for its performance monitoring capabilities in the network and systems management area.

NetVigil provides integrated fault and performance monitoring of applications, networks, systems and user defined data sources. This versatile data gathering combination enables customers to rapidly create business containers – personalized views showing the real-time performance of business services derived from the performance of the underlying IT infrastructure.

"Network Computing has acknowledged the best and brightest in the networking and IT worlds for 10 years through its annual Well-Connected Awards," says Mike Lee, editor of Network Computing magazine. "The awards are determined as a result of product testing in the Real-World Labs of Network Computing, located throughout the U.S. More than 130 finalists in more than 40 categories have been named. The winners will be announced in the coming weeks."

The object-oriented components of NetVigil's architecture are capable of automatically determining relationships between problems in the infrastructure and business services. With its open, easily extensible APIs and data feeds, NetVigil can monitor any device or application that can be instrumented. Powerful Data Gathering Engines (DGEs), each with its own fault and performance database, automatically discover problems and establish baselines and thresholds for monitored applications, networks, and systems. Business containers can be created on the fly and can represent a geographic location, a business unit, or a revenue-generating service. Containers can share elements with other containers. Earlier this year, Fidelia added to NetVigil a ‘nested’ container feature (i.e., containers within containers), including the ability to drill down to see the real-time status of nested containers.

NetVigil features an intuitive point-and-click, browser-based user interface that illustrates infrastructure fault and performance with red-amber-green traffic lights. In addition to allowing the creation of containers, NetVigil’s capabilities include a sophisticated “delegated user authority,” which lets IT managers distribute responsibilities for personal infrastructure slices to other users in the organization. Downloadable over the Web, NetVigil begins discovering the IT infrastructure immediately, returning its value within days.

The NetVigil application is affordably priced for mid-tier enterprises, but scalable for Fortune 500 organizations. The Web based user interface, ease of use and very low total cost of ownership has enabled a number of enterprises to replace their aging IT management systems with the newer generation Fidelia product. Licenses for NetVigil v3.6 start at $40,000, with an average price of approximately $80,000 to $100,000. To date, Fidelia has filed for four patents on the NetVigil intellectual property. NetVigil runs under Solaris, Linux and Windows.
