Fidelia's Distributed, Scalable Architecture awarded U.S. Patent for Application, Server & Network Management Systems.

Princeton, NJ – January 24, 2006– Fidelia® Technology, the leader in Instant Business Visibility™ software, announced that it has been granted a U.S. patent for their distributed parallel-processing architecture. U.S. Patent No. 6,985,944 describes a scalable architecture for Application and Network Management systems in very large IT networks.

Fidelia NetVigil's distributed database & parallel-processing architecture allows real-time reporting in very large IT networks. Traditional network and server management systems based on centralized data warehouse technology are limited to how much they can scale in real-time, and require multiple isolated products to offer the same level of functionality that NetVigil can offer.

NetVigil's architecture consists of independent, distributed Data Gathering Engines (DGEs) that can analyze data and trigger notifications directly. All historical and real-time status data is stored on distributed databases directly by the DGEs. A separate component called the "Business Visibility Engine" (BVE) can display unified status and reports from the distributed DGEs to provide a unified view on the IT infrastructure and the impact on Business Services.

"Our enterprise customers have NetVigil deployments monitoring several hundred thousand elements on their networks with unified fault and performance across applications, networks and servers", said Vikas Aggarwal, President & Founder of Fidelia. “NetVigil's architecture positions it well for monitoring the next level of IT applications based on distributed SOA where scalability and correlation to business services is key", added Aggarwal.

The NetVigil software is affordably priced for mid-tier enterprises, but scalable enough for Fortune 500 organizations. Average selling price of NetVigil is approximately $80,000. NetVigil runs under Solaris, Linux and Windows.
