Smart API - Extensible and Open

NetVigil provides a rich set of APIs and open extensibility for those who have embedded technology with which NetVigil needs to co-exist or to add functionality that NetVigil might not have out of the box.

• API can be used with Perl, Java, C or any similar language
• Provision & update users, devices, tests using the API
• External data feeds for pre-tested structured data or raw ASCII text data

The API and external feeds provide interface points to either imported or exported data throughout the IT environment. One example of this is the NetVigil Remedy interface whic allows opening trouble tickets in Remedy or RT automatically.

XML Based Plugin Framework

NetVigil has a plugin architecture to add new actions or new monitors. Simply create a new monitor and a new definition file, drop it into a plugins folder, and it becomes an integrated part of NetVigil.

Most of Fidelia's customers actively use the API to extend the functionality of NetVigil for custom monitors and actions.
