Fidelia's flagship software - NetVigil, is a breakthrough IT infrastructure monitoring application that provides real-time visibility into the performance of the underlying business services. It provides an extremely easy-to-use web based user interface and a platform that is distributed, scalable, real-time and easy to manage. NetVigil enables decentralized remote infrastructure management that is pro-active and preventive rather than reactive, at all employee levels based on their responsibilities and permissions. NetVigil’s Business Container technology makes aligning your technology with your business a reality by “containerizing” IT infrastructure and allowing intuitive drill-down into business services.
Perhaps one of the strongest testimonials to the ease of use and value of NetVigil is the fact that it is being used by senior management actively within the Fidelia customer base.
NetVigil delivers a rich set of out-of-the-box views and reports. The flexible reporting engine can generate SLA, trend, capacity planning and statistical reports on the fly. The powerful notification engine has built in escalation and root-cause analysis for suppressing alarm floods.
Key NetVigil advantages are:
Business Service Containers
“Delegated” User Model
Integrated Fault & real-time Performance
Easy to Extend APIs for custom monitors
Extremely low TCO (less than 0.25 FTE)
Small enterprise? Try
NetVigil offers unmatched flexibility in creating real-life models of your business services with business containers. This includes the flexibility to build containers within containers, and to quickly drill down through the service hierarchy to view the real-time status of these “nested” containers. The object-oriented components of NetVigil's architecture are capable of automatically determining relationships between problems in the infrastructure and business services.
With its open, easily extensible APIs and data feeds, NetVigil can monitor any device or application that can be instrumented. Powerful Data Gathering Elements (DGEs), each with its own database, automatically discover problems and establish baselines and thresholds for monitored applications, networks, and systems.
Business containers can be created on the fly and can represent a geographic location, a business unit, or a revenue-generating service. Containers can share elements with other containers.
NetVigil features an intuitive point-and-click, browser-based user interface that drills down to illustrate infrastructure fault and performance with red-amber-green traffic lights. In addition to allowing the creation of containers, NetVigil’s capabilities also include a sophisticated “delegated user authority,” which lets IT managers distribute responsibilities for personal infrastructure slices to other users in the organization.
Business Service Containers
Fidelia's unique object oriented "container" technology allows you to relate your applications and underlying servers or network to a service such as eCommerce, payroll, finance, manufacturing, etc. This technology allows you to correlate your business to your IT infrastructure and identify the impact of your IT infrastructure to the delivery of business service to your customers.
Real-time Reporting
Fidelia's strength is in its reports and statistical information, ranging from simple top-N tables to complex correlation graphs and trend reports using regression analysis. You can move seamlessly between fault and performance reports, and the real-time reporting engine displays statistics and reports within seconds of your requesting the report. The wealth of information available such as the 95th percentile, the trend analysis (days to threshold), the historical graphs and histograms allow you to make informed decisions about the weaknesses and performance of your IT infrastructure.
Smart Notification and Alerts
Fidelia's smart notification engine (SME) automatically suppresses transient flaps, and prevents alarm floods based on topology and service dependencies. The multi-stage alarm engine provides a comprehensive escalation process to send notifications based on how long a device has been in warning or critical condition, and on time of day and status on repeated polling. You can email, page or run a custom script to restart a process based on the length of time that a device has been in that state. The smart suppression engine uses complex heuristics to avoid false suppression of alarms in redundant networks.
